Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about planning your book club reading schedule and finishing on time.
How many pages should I read per day for my book club?
Divide the remaining pages by the number of days until your meeting. For example, a 300-page book with 7 days available requires 43 pages per day (Math.ceil(300 ÷ 7) = 43). At an average reading speed, this takes approximately 43 minutes daily.
What if our book club meeting is only a few days away?
Use the 3-day quick option to see if an accelerated schedule is manageable. If you have 300 pages left in 3 days, that requires 100 pages per day (about 1.6 hours of daily reading). If that is unachievable, you can prioritize key chapters or audiobooks at 1.5× or 2× playback speed.
How can I catch up if I fall behind on my book club schedule?
Simply update the "Pages Already Read" input to your current page. The calculator automatically adjusts your remaining daily target for the remaining days so you never have to guess.
Does this calculator account for my reading speed?
Yes. You can toggle between Slow (150 WPM), Average (250 WPM), Fast (350 WPM), or enter your custom Words Per Minute. You can measure your exact reading speed using our free Reading Speed Test.
What if our book club reads chapter-by-chapter rather than pages?
You can enter the total number of chapters into the "Total Pages" field and your current chapter into "Pages Read". The resulting daily number will represent your required chapters per day.
Does this planner store any of my reading data?
No. All calculations take place entirely in your browser using pure client-side JavaScript. No account, login, or tracking is used.
